Video Producing -
Schneider Electric
My direct contributions to this video was as art director, producer, interviewer, location scout, set stylist, coordinator travel/logistics for team, project manager and budget management.
PROBLEM
I was the Producer for this video project was for the Solar Business at Schneider Electric to highlight their yearly Solarthon event. The company partnered with an integrator, GRID Alternatives, to provide energy products to low income residential neighborhood in San Diego, California. The residents received a solar system and free installation in their home. This busy event also taught volunteers about future career in solar installation while saving money for the community. This video documented the event which we shared on the company website. It also received a lot of earned media and news coverage in the local area.

OUTCOME

RESPONSE
This type of production always yields positive results to the business, and our partners. In some cases such as this, these positive results also conveys goodwill to the greater community and to those working at the company – including me.
BARRIERS
As the producer for this project, it was huge for one person for one day of outdoor shooting. It was also my first video shoot as as onsite producer and interviewer. The SME interviews happened at one end of the neighborhood with the home installation on the other end, so dealing with the logistics was challenging while getting the shots needed for the video and interviewing 3 SMEs. After this shoot, I knew I could do anything.
